ABOUT THE CHEF:
After graduating with a business degree from Johnson & Wales University and a short stint working in sales and banking, Ryan took a risk that would eventually lead to his answering his life calling. With $200 and a few suitcases in hand, he made the big move to New York, taking a job as a dishwasher on the second day, before eventually working his way up prepping, line cooking to Sous Chef and Executive Chef over the years. Working at top restaurants alongside acclaimed chefs around the city, he established his culinary expertise before launching Ask Chef Ryan, focusing on catering, consulting, and distinctive dining experiences that draw on his knowledge of developing savory expressions for a diverse clientele.
When he is in the kitchen, Chef Ryan brings ingenuity along with an appreciation of international flavors and local fresh ingredients, always prioritizing presentation, attention to detail, and promoting connection through food. Highly versatile, friendly, accommodating, and approachable, he can completely customize and tailor menus that appeal to a range of tastes and dietary preferences for gatherings of all sizes in the New York metro area.
Finally, nothing gives Chef Ryan more joy than bringing people together around food and warming their hearts with a good story and dish. In his free time, Chef Ryan enjoys gardening and barbecuing for friends and family. Follow him on Instagram @AskChefRyan to keep up with his latest culinary adventures, connect, or “ask” him for tips and advice.
